Chester's fried chicken hot and crispy on the line at Westside Market

The last stop before the North Woods

Hunting Season Fuel

When the season opens and you are pointing the truck north, Westside Market is the last proper stop before the country gets quiet and the stores get far apart. Fill up here: the tank, the cooler, and the person behind the wheel, so the only thing you are thinking about once you are out there is the hunt.

Before you head north

Start the morning with coffee from the bar and a breakfast burrito while it is still dark, then pack out what you will want later: kitchen food that travels, something hot for the drive, and enough to keep the camp fed. Grab ice for the cooler and whatever you forgot on the list. It is easier to catch it here than to turn around for it.

The last brush with civilization

Past Whitefish the good coffee and the fresh food thin out fast. This is the place to enjoy one more real cup and a proper meal before the North Woods, and to stock the beer and fine wine for when the day's work is done and the story-telling starts.

Fill the tank on the way out

The Cenex pumps are right out front, so you can top off the tank on your way through without adding a stop. Come back through when the season winds down. We will still be open early, and the coffee will still be on.
